Last updated: 6 October 2026

TinyMoods is a small family app: parents and carers keep a shared "mood board" of their children's moods during the day, and look back at the history in a calendar. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

The data controller is DEME Digital (VAT BE1037765089), Belgium. Contact: hello@tinymoments.io.

2. What we collect

  • Account: your email address and name from Google or Apple sign-in, and an internal user ID. We never see your Google or Apple password.
  • Family: the family name, the name you choose to be shown to your family (for example "Mom"), and your role (owner or user).
  • Children: a first name or nickname, a birth date (used only to show an age), an optional photo, whether the child is shown on the board, the child's current mood, and the highest mood reached each day (the calendar history). This data is entered by you, the parent or carer. Please use a nickname if you prefer.
  • Invites: the invite links you create, so they can be shown and revoked.
  • Technical data: crash reports (including your user ID and device and app version) and basic app-usage analytics. We switch off advertising identifiers; we do not use your data for advertising.

We do not collect your location, contacts or microphone data. The app asks for photo access only when you choose a photo for a child.

3. Why we use it (legal basis)

  • To provide the app you asked for: sign-in, the family board, invites and history (performance of a contract).
  • To keep the app working and secure: crash reports and basic analytics (our legitimate interest in running a reliable service).
  • Photos and children's details are provided by you as the parent or carer; by adding them you confirm you are entitled to do so.

4. Who we share it with

Only people in your family can see your family's data, and only people you invite can join. We use these service providers (processors) to run the app: Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, cloud functions, Crashlytics and Analytics), Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In. We do not sell your data.

5. Where it is stored

Family data is stored in Google Cloud in the European Union (Belgium). Some technical data, such as crash reports and analytics, may be processed by Google in other countries under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account and family exist. If you delete your account or family, the data is deleted from the live service straight away, and disappears from backups within about 90 days. Crash and analytics data is kept for the period set in Firebase (at most 14 months for analytics).

7. Children's data

TinyMoods is for adults. You must be at least 16 to create an account. Children cannot sign in; their names, birth dates, photos and moods are added by their parents or carers and are visible only to the family. We do not use children's data for advertising or profiling.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, and object to processing. Most of this you can do in the app (edit children, rename yourself, leave the family, delete your account). For anything else, email hello@tinymoments.io. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority: gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

9. Deleting your data

In the app: Manage → Settings → Delete my account, or Delete family (owner). See also how to delete your account.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to family members by server-side security rules.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
